They met at a family summer camp hosted by his church. She was there with her entire family and anticipated spending quality time with her children, parents and siblings. He almost didn’t go, but decided to take his two boys at the last minute. As it turns out, they were the only two single people. A mutual friend introduced the two of them with wide eyes..
Rachelle admits to immediately thinking he was handsome. She was wondering if he was going to ask her for her number, which he didn’t. A week after camp they found each other on Facebook and things took off effortlessly from there.
Rachelle talks about how Robert has all the qualities she desires, along with qualities she never knew she needed. He’s attentive, loving, intuitive and leads with a wise disposition.
Our family (Rachelle happens to be my cousin!) has history at the San Gabriel Mission. Generations have been married, baptized, educated and even buried there. Robert & Rachelle’s wedding will have a Spanish/Mexican feel to it, so they decided that it would be the perfect place to photograph their love. I had to agree, it’s beautiful and the meaning of the mission to our family makes it unsurpassable.
The evening went perfectly. We stopped for some snacks before and chatted for a bit-calming ourselves from the busy day we had leading up to the session. We started photographing at a rustic old church nearby, continued onto the mission, then finished at The San Gabriel Playhouse. The light was absolutely breathtaking! I love how you feel the warmth of their love as they embraced in the sunset. It’s reflective of their story. I’m beyond happy for them, as they start the journey-their happy ending..
Last year I photographed Lizel’s wedding and in the process, I got to know her and her hubby, Andrew, pretty good. I’ve grown to love them-they’re absolutely adorable, thoughtful and so sweet! A couple of months ago Lizel emailed me asking to set up a photo session with her friend for their graduation portraits. (She’s graduating from Cal State Fullerton! How exciting?! )I was delighted! I love that I get to continue to be apart of their lives and see them grow and progress!
Lizel’s so sweet-she showed up with an iced tea for me! (She knows the way to my heart!)
Lizel’s major is Financing-she say’s her calculator is her best friend! For all you Parks and Recreation fans, check out her custom made cap! Natalie’s major is in Child Development. She plans on teaching small children. Do you know which movie her cap quote is from?? Mean Girls!! So cute!
The girls wanted photos there on campus, so we met there and they showed me around. The light was amazing! We found some gorgeous gardens and of course, shot at the iconic CSFU sign. We ended the session with some glitter fun! (Because, what girl doesn’t love glitter?!)
