A Sunday Afternoon with the Cervantes Family

This sunday I met up with Veronica and her family. The last time I saw Veronica was in Junior High-back when attitudes were cool!  ; )  We’re all grown up with our very own “little attitudes”. Her kids are so sweet and did so well! What child wants to sit in front of a camera when they can throw rocks, pick flowers and find pine-cones?! Antonio, Gabrielle and Olivia did it all and the pictures show it! My favorites are the kids being themselves.

Long Awaited Family Portraits

This weekend was special for a few reasons! One it was Easter, two my brother in law and family came into town, three we spent the whole weekend together; both brother in law’s and families-The Moku Ohana, and four we took FAMILY PICTURES!. It was great! We ALL enjoyed ourselves! (one highlight was my sister in law and I didn’t have to cook once! yay!) This was also a first for us to take portraits all together. My immediate family hasn’t taken pictures since before my son was born-long over due! The large family picture was done with my tripod and it turned out great!

Everyone was there but Kaleb and Grandma Cherie. We missed you both!

Logan & Wendy [Phillips Ranch, CA]

This weekend was another picture-filled weekend and I loved it! I shot Wendy & Logan’s engagement photos for their wedding later this month. It was a gloomy afternoon at Logan’s parents house in Phillips Ranch, but Logan & Wendy were as relaxed as can be. They’re were also a little camera-shy, but you couldn’t tell by looking at their portraits! I loved how Logan was attentive and affectionate with Wendy; always rubbing her back or belly. I was able to catch their natural affection and smiles. Super sweet! I’m looking forward to capturing more special moments at their wedding!

Ryan & Ana [Long Beach, CA]

A few months ago, I had a great opportunity to shoot a wedding with Kevin Le Vu Photography. I had a blast!

A Daddy and His Little Girl

This Saturday I was able to take family portraits of Ray and his sweet daughter Savannah. Ray bought Savannah a puppy not too long ago-Buddy. Buddy is a tiny little ball of energy, barely visible bouncing around in the grass! Savannah is gentle, attentive and totally loving with Buddy! She’s also super sweet with her Daddy or is it the other way around? Either way, they have a close, loving relationship! The three of them were easy to shoot; they enjoyed themselves, while in between shots, Ray and I chatted about fishing and our love for seafood! I love spending my weekends like this! Thank you, Ray, Savannah & Buddy, I had a great day!

To Be 16 Is Sweet

I recently found old pictures from high school. And I didn’t find a couple, I found the mother-load. Sadie Hawkins, Winter Formal, Prom, Senior Ditch Day, Graduation, old boyfriends, everything. As I looked through the pictures-at all the silliness, the big cheesy-all-teeth-showing smiles, the special moments, the HAPPINESS; I realized how blessed I am to have such awesome memories. To have had what every girl dreams of in her teenage years.

I spent an afternoon with Melissa, who’s turning 16 in March, and when I looked at her all beautified ; ), I thought “wow, what a great time in her life?!” She’s beautiful and HAPPY! She’s loving life. And now from a mother’s prospective; its everything you desire for your child-for them to be healthy, happy and doing well in life.

I can’t help but love these pictures. I’m happy for Melissa and her parents to have this very special time; Sweet 16, recorded just like my treasured memories. One day she’ll be able to look back and think the same as I have, “Wow, I had what every girl dreams of in her teenage years.”
